As of 9 AM today, June 4, 2021, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 21,668, total recoveries at 20,022 (92.40%), and total deaths at 324 (1.50%). This brings the total active cases to 1322 (6.10%).
A total of 220 new cases were recorded today out of the 1,189 laboratory samples tested in four (4) COVID-19 laboratories. Of these, 213 came from the three COVID-19 laboratories in the region – the EVRMC, the OMDC, and the DWHVL. While seven (7) cases were reported by the Philippine Red Cross in Cebu City. The total number of new cases represents an 18.50% positivity rate.
The EVRCTC has released a total of 797 laboratory results. Of these, 657 are negative and 140 are positive (with 137 new cases and 3 re-swabs) for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 325 laboratory results. Of these, 250 are negative and 75 are positive (with 64 new cases and 11 re-swabs) for COVID-19.
Whereas, the OMDC has released a total of 31 laboratory samples. Of these, 19 are negative and 12 are positive with COVID-19.
Likewise, the Philippine Red Cross of Cebu City has released a total of 36 laboratory samples from Eastern Visayas. Of these, 29 are negative and 7 are positive for COVID-19.

Also, there were seven (7) cases that were tagged as new cases, but upon verification, were found out to be re-swabs. Hence, the adjustment of the number of total cases.
